Business Development Manager

 

Job Summary:

  • Primary sales contact in an assigned geographical area within one airport city.
  • Responsible for generating new business and acquiring new profitable business relationships and generating leads from internal and external sources
  • Manage accounts in a designated book of business
  • Responsible for generating new business by penetrating existing accounts
  • Work with the Sales Management and Operations departments to design and develop customer solutions and works with Sales Management to ensure the solution is implemented to meet client needs.
  • Gather pertinent data to identify customer needs and act as advocate during solution and pricing development
  • Work with other sales personnel within the geographical territory to promote business and generate new business opportunities
  • Work along side pricing and operations to negotiate pricing then present proposal to customer; organization’s ability to deliver and business experience; obtains client’s commitment and agreement to proceed with project design.
  • Generate interest and sell products and services to current and potential customers.
  • Indentify, monitor and measure customer or project needs to guide recommendations, decisions and actions.
  • Interacts effectively with customers to build relationships, anticipate problems before they arise and work out a solution without prompting
  • Track markets, trends, external environment and company capabilities, goals and strategies to develop recommendations for change in business plans approach to market and strategy.
  • Negotiate and assist with finalizing terms of contracts. 
  • Comply with company C-TPAT security procedures
  • Other duties assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Administration or Logistics or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years related experience in sales preferred
  • Experience in freight forwarding, transportation or logistics

·         Demonstrate effective problem solving ability via quantitative analysis, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

·         Proficient understanding of computer applications to include Word, Excel, Power Point and the Internet. 

·         Demonstrate the ability to ensure customer satisfaction and to establish repeat business opportunities.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to cultivate contacts in a variety of strategic positions, correspond with a wide network of people and build partnerships.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Air and Expedited products and services, Forwarder Program, Hot Shot, Charter Services and In Transit Upgrade preferred.
