OPERATIONS MANAGERS
Job Summary:
- Reports directly to the Terminal Manager
- Manages all terminal operations in the absence of the Terminal Manager
- Ensures compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules and government regulations
- Trains new employees and counsels personnel with feedback, coaching and discipline as needed for improved job performance
- Creates and maintains a teamwork environment with employees
- Directs investigations into causes of customer complaints and recommends solutions to correct them
- Directs investigations into causes of employee relations complaints and works with the Human Resources Department to correct them
- Keeps current on changes or new procedures within the Company
- Enforces compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules and government regulations
- Conducts meetings with all employees to keep them up to date with pertinent changes within Estes and the trucking industry
- Promotes good relations with employees
- Able to work in all areas relative to the operation of the terminal
- Other duties and responsibilities as required
Requirements:
- Knowledge of all aspects of an LTL terminal
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and team building talents
- Must have good computer skills
- Must be organized and have a strong work ethic
- Must be an effective leader with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees
- Must be able to work any shift including weekends and in any weather condition
- 2 to 3 years of supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of hazardous materials preferred
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Must be mentally and emotionally capable of handling a high stress environment
- High School diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s Degree preferred but increasing levels of responsibility within the LTL industry may be substituted)
