IS SEEKING A

DIESEL MECHANIC / SHIFT COORDINATOR

 

Job Summary:

·         Assigns and supervises the work of equipment mechanics engaged in the maintenance and repair of tractors and trailers

·         Coordinates all repairs that occur during the shift

·         Enforces compliance with policies, procedures, rules and government regulations

·         Makes inspections and determines the nature of equipment failures, extensiveness of repairs, tools and materials needed to accomplish repairs

·         Performs mechanic level work in determining the equipment failure and make necessary repairs

·         Reviews work priorities and delegate work assignments

·         Orders necessary parts and materials needed to perform maintenance and repair work

·         Maintains records of work performed and parts and material used

·         Regular attendance required

Requirements:

·         2 years management experience preferred (Transportation Industry preferred, some technical school helpful)

·         2 years mechanic experience in the fleet maintenance industry

·         Valid drivers license with an acceptable record

·         Thorough knowledge of techniques and methods used in repairing equipment for the maintenance and repair of equipment

·         Familiar with all warranty schedules

·         General knowledge of preventative maintenance methods and working parts knowledge of all types of equipment

·         Principles of supervision and training employees

·         Must be able to interact well with others

·         Must be mentally and emotionally capable of handling a high stress environment

·         Ability to work independently or in a team setting in a fast paced environment

·         Ability to work all shifts including evenings and weekends

·         Ability to make cost conscious decisions regarding repairs and keep labor costs to company standards

·         Ability to diagnose mechanical troubles and determine appropriate maintenance work

·         Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose all types of repairs

·         Prepare and maintain records of work orders, work completed, parts and materials used

·         Must possess emotional and mental wellness in a high stress environment

·         Good communication, organization and team building skills

·         Solid computer skills

·         Read and interpret factory service bulletins and equipment manuals

·         Must be able to and comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct

·         Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 70lbs

·         High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience

·         Responds well to questions. Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

·         Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and will be subject to a criminal history background check

·         Must be eligible to work in the United States
