Education Level: High School/GED Career Level : Description: Our Hazardous Waste Driver is responsible for operating a hazardous waste transportation vehicle (example: Roll-off, End Dump, Tanker, Flatbed or Van Trailer). After training, drivers will be required to operate a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on commercial routes. Our drivers have safe driving records and possess at least a Class A or B commercial driver's license with airbrake and HazMat endorsements. To be a successful Hazardous Waste Driver you must: -Safely operate trucks in heavy traffic and other congested areas -Complete daily safety checks before operating the vehicle, as well as, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections. -Perform minor maintenance including, but not limited to, checking and adding fluids, checking tires and safety mechanisms, and performs other maintenance as it relates to vehicle inspection or safe operation. -Operate hydraulic loading mechanism on truck. Load, unload, and transport Non-Hazardous or Hazardous material in a safe and efficient manner. -Ensure loads are secure prior to transport -You must wear personal protective equipment (example seat belts, gloves, work boots and safety glasses etc.) at all times. Our drivers, who have safe driving records, comply with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations and with company policy. Drivers are expected to communicate professionally with customers and dispatchers at all times. This includes receiving complaints about schedules and quality of service. Our Drivers must make note of and report on any such complaints and respond in a courteous and respectful manner. The position routinely requires physical exertions such as repetitive lifting, pushing, and pulling items that weigh up to 30 pounds as part of their daily routine.
