IS SEEKING A

FLEET SERVICES SHOP MANAGER

 

Job Summary:

·         Maintains safe and reliable company equipment

·         Total responsibility for the maintenance facility and all activities including but not limited to:  all hiring, employee counseling and training, and terminations; assuring they are processed according to proper guidelines

·         Ensures payroll is correct and on time

·         Ensures all Preventive Maintenance schedules are made on all assigned equipment and certain unassigned equipment

·         Manages all shop operations

·         Keeps labor costs to Company standards

·         Implements and monitors training programs

·         Maintains an effective working relationship with other departments such as safety, sales, claims, loss prevention, customer care, and operations

·         Directs investigations into causes of complaints and respond accordingly in conjunction with the HR Department

·         Acts as Company's representative before government agencies or legal representatives as directed by Corporate Office

·         Keeps current on any changes or new procedures within the Company

·         Enforces compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and government regulations

·         Conduct meetings with all employees to keep them up to date with pertinent changes within Estes and the trucking industry

·         Ensures good relations with other terminals and shops

·         Promotes good relations with employees

·         Regular attendance is required

Operational, safety and other needs may require the employee to perform any and all other duties as assigned. Employees are expected, and must be able to perform all such duties and tasks

Qualifications:

·         Five years experience in shop and personnel management in the trucking industry

·         Must have proven leadership experience

·         Must be able to work all shifts, including nights and weekends

·         Must be able to work in all areas relative to the needs of the shop

·         Some travel as required

·         Must have strong team building talents

·         Must have good computer skills

·         Must be organized and a good communicator

·         Must have a strong work ethic

·         Must be able to and comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct

·         Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 70 lbs

·         High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience; Some technical school helpful

·         Responds well to questions. Ability to read and interpret written information and documents such as safety rules, operations and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

·         Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and will be subject to a criminal history background check

·         Must be eligible to work in the United States
