IS SEEKING AN
OPERATIONS MANAGER
Job Summary:
- Reports to the Terminal Manager/Assistant Terminal Manager
- Directly supervises dockworkers and support personnel in the loading and unloading of freight
- Schedules and assigns tasks for dock planning and setup
- Ensures timely pickup and delivery of freight and verifies freight for all billing
- Observes loading of trucks for proper handling and distribution of freight for transport
- Enforces all safety measures in regard to balance of freight for safe operation of trucks
- Enforces compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules and government regulations
- Trains new employees and counsels personnel with feedback, coaching and discipline as needed for improved job performance
- Creates and maintains a teamwork environment with employees
- Oversees terminal operations to ensure customer satisfaction while minimizing costs
- Directs investigations into causes of customer complaints and recommends solutions to correct them
- Coordinates drivers and assigns trucks and delivery routes for pickup and delivery of freight
- Records all pertinent information on transport of freight including time of departure, delivery, etc.
- Conducts safety interviews with the driver to include: post accident MVA Reports, workers compensation after accident interviews/reports, notice of violations interviews with drivers and road observation discussions with drivers
- Conducts safety training as needed following accidents, a workers compensation incidence, road observations and notices of violations.
- Maintains equipment and facility for effective, clean and safe operations
- Regular attendance is required

Qualifications:
- 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of all aspects of an LTL terminal
- Must be organized and have a strong work ethic
- Must be an effective leader with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees
- Must be able to work and shift including weekends and in any weather condition
- Knowledge of hazardous materials preferred
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and team building talents
- Must have good computer skills
- Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 25 lbs
- High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Responds well to questions. Ability to read and interpret written information and documents such as safety rules, operations and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and will be subject to a criminal history background check
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
