ESTES EXPRESS LINES IS SEEKING A TERMINAL MANAGER Job Summary: · Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the day-to-day direction and management of an LTL operation · Supports customer relationships, oversee profit and cost controls, and ensure safety, service, and quality measures · Responsible for all hiring, employee counseling and training, and terminations; assuring they are processed according to proper guidelines · Ensures payroll is correct and on time · Ensures all schedules are created for outbound and city schedules to get the freight delivered on time · Manages / Oversees all terminal functions to include dock and city operations · Keeps labor costs, cost per bill, claims, and exceptions to Company standards · Maintains an effective working relationship with other departments such as safety, sales, claims, loss prevention, customer care, and fleet services · Directs investigations into causes of customer complaints and responds accordingly · Acts as Company's representative before government agencies or legal representatives · Keeps up to date on any changes or new procedures within the Company · Enforces compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and government regulations · Conducts meetings with all employees to keep them up to date with pertinent changes within Estes and the trucking industry · Keeps good relations with other terminals · Promotes good relations with employees · Regular attendance is required · This is not an all-inclusive list of job requirements and/or duties and may not contain all mental and physical capabilities necessary to perform the job at all times due to circumstances. Employees are expected, and must be able to perform all such duties and tasks Qualifications: · A minimum of five years management experience in the LTL industry required · Must be able to thrive in a fast paced environment · Must possess exceptional leadership and communication skills · Must have strong team building talents · Ability to create, implement and monitor training programs · Must have good computer skills · Must be organized and an effective communicator · Must be mentally and emotionally capable of handling a high stress environment · Must have a strong work ethic · Must be able to work any shift including weekends and in any weather condition; willing to work 50 hours/ week average · Must have proper skills relating to the hiring and terminating of employees · Must be computer literate – AS400 and MS Office experience preferred · Some traveling required · Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 25 lbs · High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience · Must be able to and comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct · Responds well to questions.
