Estes Express Lines is currently seeking a Manager of Procurement Systems/ Cost Savings
Job Summary:
- Responsible for overseeing and contributing to all procure-to-pay operational activities, especially those related to the EstesMart system
- Manage and participate in cost saving initiatives, in addition to directing the Procurement Services staff in the successful execution of their duties to ensure the greatest value to Estes for all managed spend
- Assess, build, train and lead a team of sourcing and procurement specialists to management sourcing and procurement processes
- Manage procurement personnel, which includes interviewing applicants, facilitating employee development and retention, balancing workloads among team members and mentoring direct reports
- Ensure internal contract compliance related to the issuance of contract requests/ purchase requisitions and the activation of catalogs
- Conduct preferred supplier usage audits and enforce preferred supplier policies
- Generate procurement related management/executive reports
- Oversee all Procure-to-Pay operational activities
- Supervise all Procure-to-Pay system Help Desk activities
- Continuously contribute to the enhanced operational efficiency and staff competence in usage of the Procure-to-Pay procurement platform
- Develop appropriate staff objectives in line with business and department goals and monitor staff’s performance against objectives
- Continuously and proactively monitor progress through benchmarking against class leading procurement organizations, recognized measurement frameworks and engagement with external bodies and organizations
- Lead, along with the Director of Procurement, the development of procurement strategy and tactics
- Oversee and direct our supplier management program
- Achieve significant cost savings and cost avoidance through creativity and use of effective supply chain management techniques
- Function as the “Backup” for the Director of Procurement
- Oversee procurement team’s relationship with its clients and vendors to ensure they are well maintained and productive for both parties

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, finance, management or accounting; or at least 5 years of progressive experience within the indirect services categories or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Broad technical knowledge of the indirect services categories and related work streams
- Demonstrated results in a global supply environment
- Proven skills in negotiation and influencing
- Ability to perform job functions with considerable independence and judgment
- Well organized individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Broad, thorough and comprehensive knowledge of category management, business and supply chain management practices, theories, principles and disciplines
- Must possess the ability to plan, prioritize and manage workload independently as well as have excellent project management skills, the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Must be proficient in MS Office, MS Outlook, Lotus Notes, have working knowledge of the PC platform and the web
- Possess working knowledge of Ariba Procure-to-Pay On-Demand solution
- Must be assertive, highly self-motivated and have strong leadership, project management and communication skills
- Must thrive in a multi-task, fast-paced environment
- Must be able to manage team dynamics successfully and foster mutual support among team members
- Possess the ability to be a team player, share ideas and offer and welcome constructive reviews
- Demonstrate the ability to interact successfully with a diverse population and with staff at all levels
- Must be able to problem solve and to develop tools and strategies for measuring and ensuring the team’s success
- Must be able to and comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
- Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 25 lbs
- Responds well to questions. Ability to read and interpret written information and documents such as safety rules, operations and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and will be subject to a criminal history background check
