Position Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible to manage a number of Fleet Repair Facilities manned by fleet maintenance technicians, responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance of Verizon's fleet. This position is accountable to manage a budget, meet objectives, approve labor time, conduct work quality inspections, perform Garage operational reviews, obtain accident estimates, understand the OSHA, ANSI regulations in regards to our vehicles, understand DOT and the environmental laws in regards to fleet maintenance. This position in addition to having a high level of management skills, must have a background or an understanding of automotive technology along with good oral and written communication skills. Technical Knowledge Requirements: Four years of increasingly responsible automotive experience in an administrative capacity, including two years of supervisory experience in automotive maintenance and repair and/or vehicular fleet operations; or a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities. Managerial Skills Requirements: Minimum of 2+ year’s previous experience in managing subordinates. Must have an understanding of the DOT regulations. Have a mechanical background that will enable the supervisor to approve labor time charged for repairs and make decisions concerning vehicle maintenance. Good communication and PC skills, includes using word, excel, power point.
