To help us achieve that mission, we are looking for an experienced Mixer Mechanic. The primary responsibilities of this position include: Safety. Repairs mixer trucks in such a way as to ensure all equipment is always operated in a safe condition. Reinforces the safety culture throughout the entire organization. Attends shop safety meetings; fixes Daily Vehicle Inspection Report issues in a timely manner Maintain Fleet Availability. Works to maintain the targeted number of mixer trucks and equipment mechanically available every day. Proactively communicates problems in achieving availability targets prior to the daily plan creation. Utilize Proper Maintenance Techniques. Effectively and efficiently performs all preventive maintenance activities and quickly resolves all equipment breakdowns. Avoids fixing equipment with temporary patches that do not resolve the fundamental cause of the equipment failure. Develops additional skills required to continually improve personal mechanical abilities. Highlight User Abuse of Equipment to Management. Educates the Operations Manager, Plant Managers, and Drivers about the appropriate methods to operate all individual pieces of equipment. Troubleshoots unexpected breakdowns to identify root causes of the failure. Requirements and Knowledge: Clean MVR, Class B CDL preferred. Minimum 2 years related experience. Ability to read, write and openly communicate in English. Provide own tools. Complete understanding of DC electrical, air brake and hydraulic systems. Competent engine knowledge and knowledge of DOT regulations.
