LOGISTICS CENTER MANAGER - LEVEL 2 LOGISTICS Job Summary: · Responsible for the financial results of the Logistics Center operation · Operates the logistics center efficiently by analyzing operating costs, equipment utilization, carrier and mode selection and optimizes payload capacity across all lanes · Organizes, plans and implements transportation processes and solutions for assigned customers that utilize the best cost option to maximize profitability and guarantees customer satisfaction · Schedules and assigns tasks for dock planning and setup · Recruits, manages, hires, trains and provides direction to logistics center employees · Creates and maintains a teamwork environment with employees · Allocates and manages associates, full time and temporary according to changing business needs · Responsible for monitoring and achieving internal & external customer requirements in a manner consistent with established goals/standards · Ensures customer orders are processed within acceptable order cycle time, must arrive by dates and accuracy requirements · Effectively communicates information to all levels of the operation · Ensures proper billing practices and proper documentation of materials, labor, and rental equipment is preformed to ensure accurate invoicing, for the purpose of capturing all revenue · Ensures damage and loss reports are documented in adherence with company practices · Analyzes data to monitor performance, problem solve, and plan improvements · Coordinates activities when necessary with vendors, POD’S, satellite terminals, logistics centers and customer care center · Represents company at trade exhibitions, events and sales presentations · Maintains & develops relationships with existing customers in person, via telephone calls and emails · Travel required estimated at 25% of the time · Regular attendance required · This is not an all-inclusive list of job requirements and/or duties and may not contain all mental and physical capabilities necessary to perform the job at all times due to circumstances. Employees are expected, and must be able to perform all such duties and tasks Qualifications: · Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and problem solving skills · Proven record of managing resources and creating efficiencies supported by strong analytical skills · Must have 5 years experience in the transportation, distribution and logistics fields · Must be Computer literate in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint · Must be able to work flexible hours, various shifts and available for on call · Must be able to and comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct · Must be able to interact well with others · Ability to work independently or in a team setting, in a fast paced environment · Must be mentally and emotionally capable of handling a high stress environment · High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelors Degree preferred · Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 25 lbs · Responds well to questions.
