Position Summary: Penske Logistics is looking for qualified CDL A truck drivers to become part of an excellent team. This is a great opportunity to continue your career with one of the nation’s largest logistics companies. Route/Activity –Drivers are delivering medical supplies to hospitals and doctor offices within a 150 mile radius. Averaging 10 stops per shift in the greater Chicagoland area. Drivers will unload using electricpallet jack and/or hand truck. Shift –3rd Shift. Start times varies but will be late nightstill early morning. Will get at least 40 hours but probably closer to 50 hours per week but no guarantee OT. Equipment –Day Cabs 28' & 48' dry van with liftgates. Also, some straight Trucks. Responsibilities: · Loading, unloading, or assisting in loading and unloading truck. · Maintain driver logs according to I.C.C regulations. · Compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service. · Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines. · Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles before and after route. Qualifications: ·At least 23 years of age required ·CDL Class A required ·2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience in the last 5 years required ·2 years of clean DMV/MVR record required · High School Diploma or equivalent required ·Driving school and or safety certifications preferred ·Dealing with people skills, reliable and customer oriented, and ability to work independently required ·Ability to work in non-climate controlled environments required ·Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening.
