Penske Logistics is looking for qualified CDL A truck drivers to participate in a team run. This is a great opportunity to continue your career with one of the nation’s largest logistics companies. Route/Activity – Drivers are responsible for delivering high value freight to hospitals. One route runs to the West Coast and the following week route runs through the Southeast area. Each route averages 10-13 stops. It is no touch freight deliveries. Shift – Alternating weeks leaving early Saturday morning out for 5 days and then out early Sunday morning out for 5 days. Equipment – 48’ Reefer temperature controlled Compensation – Straight Mileage Rate (Drivers will average between $65,000-$70,000 annually) Benefits - Penske values the well-being of our employees and their families. Responsibilities: -Maintain driver logs according to I.C.C regulations. -Compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service. -Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines. -Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles before and after route. Qualifications: -At least 23 years of age required -CDL Class A required -Refrigeration or temperature controlled experience preferred but not required -2 years of tractor trailer driving experience in the last 5 years required -2 years of clean DMV/MVR record required -High School Diploma or equivalent required -Driving school and or safety certifications preferred -Dealing with people skills, reliable and customer oriented, ability to work independently are required -Ability to work in a non-climate contrilled environment required -Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening -The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
