The results-oriented, high energy, positive and personable professional we select for this important role will support our fleet maintenance manager by directing activities with top efficiency to maximize the use of heavy-duty, Class-8 equipment, trailers and MHE, facilities, and personnel. Acting as the second in command, this confident, capable individual will train employees; assign, plan, and direct work; assist in handling performance appraisals; reward/discipline employees; and address and resolve issues and complaints.


  • Inspect equipment to ensure proper maintenance.
  • Oversee staff payroll, inventory and billing processes.
  • Monitor the distribution of incentives, implementation of safety training, and paperwork.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-term goals, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Prepare reports on production, inventory/staff usage and risk management.
  • Remain on call on a regular basis and occasionally work nights or weekends.


  • College degree in a business or technical field required; three or more years of related experience required.
  • Must have excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Must have knowledge of diesel maintenance and/or MHE
  • Must have experience working in a diesel garage shop
  • The written/verbal communication skills to respond to inquiries or complaints from agencies and business professionals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with other individuals of the team.
  • The math skills to compute rates, ratios and percentages.
  • Analytical skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
