Position Summary:

This position provides day to day supervision and direction to the Service Provider Management team, which is responsible for optimizing our 3rd party vendor network for our customers, both internal and external. This team operates in a call center environment so this role will ensure adequate staffing/skillset assignments aligned with business needs. The Supervisor ensures the staff achieves all expected performance levels, cost savings goals, and project timelines by monitoring metrics and providing direction as needed. The Supervisor will be involved in executing the strategic direction of the optimization effort and will be responsible for taking that effort to the next level in terms of how we partner with our 3rd party network.

Major Responsibilities

- Ensure staffing/skillset requirements are aligned to business needs, by assessing needs and providing training and coaching as needed

- Ensure staff achieves all expected performance levels, by monitoring metrics and providing direction as needed

- Identify and create performance metrics for all roles within the team

- Implement policy and make recommendations to improve performance and processes.

- Make recommendations to management on actions to take with service providers due to negotiation opportunities and performance issues.

- Resolve complaints escalated from the customer through the field or 24/7 and from service providers regarding missed appointments by the customer.

- Discretion and good judgment will be utilized in supervising and coaching staff, setting work assignments and aligning department goals with business goals.

- Manage special projects as directed by assigning resources, developing and executing plan

- Other projects as assigned by the manager

Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory experience strongly desired
- 3 - 5 years in account relationship management in transportation industry preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred
- Contract and insurance experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Strong relationship building skills
- Analytical skills
- Negotiation skills

- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

- Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
